Hierarchy of Needs
is usually represented as a triangle with Higher Needs
at the top and physical needs at the bottom. . I have
re-organised it as in my beleif central to all of us is
bases his theory on the concept that unless our basic
needs are satisfied we cannot attain the higher ones.
So we need to have our physical
needs satisfied (food, shelter and the like) before we
can look to safetly needs - then we satisfy our need is
to belong to the group. Our need for self esteem comes
before our higher needs of achieving our potential, the
acquisition of knowledge and our highest need - what Mazlow
calls 'self actualization'
